About the program:
The ASAP
program is run, managed and financed by ETC and the ACE foundation. ASAP is a
non- profit program build to assist young students to get a chance to enjoy the
sport of tennis in a very professional organized and safe environment. This
makes it a great chance that these students might not have had otherwise to
further participate and grow their talents.
The Patel
Charter School at USF is one of the schools that participate in our program
while they set an example with the standards and discipline they teach their
students , that helps our efforts to
make the program a success.
The program
currently runs twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday 2:45 to 4:45 pm.
Program Details:
The program
runs threw three distinct stations
targeting our areas of focus. The daily proposed time for the program will be
two hours, distributed evenly between the three stations.
This station
will develop the basic tennis skills for beginners and include a development
program for those who show better skills and future potential.
This station
will focus on the academic development of our students and players. We will
provide tutoring and supervision threw a study hall. Help with all school work
and subjects will be provided, review sessions prior to exams and finals would
also be recommended.
This station
will focus on movement and athletic skills through fitness training and cross
training. Cross training will involve fun games of football, soccer, Frisbee and
other fun activities.
ASAP PLAYERS FOR FALL 07:
The center
currently have forty one players registered for the ASAP program. And the
program is just one year old. We feel that we the success that this program is
having the whole Tampa Bay area will have a chance to share their time on a
tennis court.
What a great
way to Get the community together.
SPECIAL THANKS:
The ETC
family would like to extend a special thanks to Tejas Patel and the ACE
foundation.
ETC would
like also to thank The USF REC DEPARTMENT under the Direction of MR. Eric
Hunter.
Without the
above sponsors the kids would have never had a chance and the Center would not
have been able to get the program off the ground.
